About the store
I am an elementary intervention aide with years of experience in teaching phonics, phonemes, spelling, reading, writing, penmanship and art. I was heavily influenced by my late mother who was a teacher of 1st and 2nd grade for 20+ years. I also have experience as a professional graphic artist. My veteran teacher mother conceived of the ingenious concepts abounding in our fantastic wall cards. She had been compiling her ideas over her years in the classroom and finally streamlined them for her master's thesis project which she received while working as a full-time 2nd-grade teacher. I and an artist friend of mine, Mark Elliot, rendered the art custom to her her dictates. Mom passed away in 2019. I use her materials every single day as an intervention aide. I am ever hopeful that her brilliant ideas might still benefit as many minds as possible who are learning to read and write English.

B and D Belly Diaper Baby

Created by

Students always giggle at this image but it is effective! The baby is walking in the direction we write. The b is on the belly! The d is on the diaper! If the bubble is on the back, it's D - D - DIAPER! If the bubble is on the front, it's B - B - BELLY! Enjoy! This is a fun one.

This image is very helpful in getting students to visualize the proper direction of lower case b and d.

Teaching style

I am a big believer in making repetition as fun as possible. Artist to the core, I frequently use similies and metaphors and sketch graphic ideas to get my points across. Such techniques seem to really speak to the imagination and logic of children's minds.
