This game has students solve a theft by solving problems involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and factoring polynomials. The students each have a set of cards and the problems they solve allow them to eliminate them one by one until they are eventually able to figure out who did it, when they did it, what they stole, and where they hid it!
This lesson is designed to come immediately after the lesson on 45-45-90 right triangles. If you would like both together, please see my store. The lesson derives the relationships between the lengths of the sides in 30-60-90 right triangles to build conceptual understanding. It then gives the students practice problems at various levels of difficulty.
This is the combined version of the individual notes on both types of special right triangles. The notes develop conceptual understandings and provide practice problems at various levels of difficulty.
Have you ever wondered where the area formulas for triangles, trapezoids and parallelograms came from? In this activity, I walk you through how to derive these formulas using index cards. The activity is designed to build strong, conceptual understandings while creating a hands-on product that they can keep in their notebooks for years to come!
