Best for classrooms with 35 students. Students will get into 5 groups. Students will pretend they are having a pizza party, and will be able to choose one topping from a list as their pizza topping. Record data on a google doc (whiteboard/ overhead is also fine). The next slide will use the given data to distribute onto pizzas, and students can visualize the material. Following slides will help students organize and compute the data. There will be discussion questions at the end so students may
Topics covered: raising numbers to a fraction, multiplying/ dividing like numbers with different exponents, definitions (power rule, zero exponent rule, power of a fraction), true/false with explanation. Clean and organized, clear instructions, and plenty of space for students to work out problems directly on the paper. This document can be used as test review, homework, class work, etc.
