Since 2016, I have been teaching high school students, initially as a social studies instructor for five years before transitioning into my current role as a career focused credit recovery program. In this position, I work closely with at-risk students, emphasizing employability training and credit recovery. Each day, my students receive direct instruction in Employability, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, I provide targeted coursework to students who require further credit recovery support.
My students typically do not thrive with online learning, instead preferring worksheets and tangible resources to reinforce their education. To address this need, I've created engaging reading comprehension materials that align closely with the courses essential for their graduation.
Why is my store so diverse? I primarily teach juniors and seniors who are credit deficient, and each student has unique graduation requirements. Some may need an American Government credit, while others require Anatomy. The amount of credit recovery varies significantly—from just three credits up to fifteen by the end of the year. As a result, I dedicate significant effort to lesson planning, ensuring my resources cover a wide array of subjects and standards. These carefully designed activities ensure every student engages with meaningful, rigorous content tailored to their individual learning needs.
I created these resources to make sure every student has the opportunity to succeed. I sincerely hope they benefit your students as much as they've benefited mine.
