As an educator and leader dedicated to transforming special education, I bring seven years of experience serving Title I schools and elevating outcomes for diverse learners. I currently serve as the Assistant Principal of Instruction for Special Populations, where I lead ARD and 504 systems, coordinate Special programming, manage STAAR and NWEA MAP testing, and guide our Special Education Department with a focus on instructional quality and student growth. My journey began in the classroom as a Lead Pre-K Teacher, but I have taught EC-12th grade where I developed a passion for data-driven instruction, inclusive practices, and personalized supports that honor every learner’s story.
My work centers on building strong IEP implementation systems, coaching teachers in effective SPED instructional practices, and empowering families through clear communication and advocacy. I specialize in academic growth monitoring, dyslexia and reading intervention, behavior support and functional strategies, co-teaching frameworks, and creating accessible learning environments rooted in equity and compassion. Through More Than a Report Card 💚, I aim to equip educators and parents with practical tools, research-based strategies, and user-friendly resources that highlight what every child can do—not just what’s written on paper.
