Experience

Motor & Mind OT was created to provide practical, regulation-focused tools that actually work in real school settings. As a school-based Occupational Therapy practitioner, I design resources that support self-regulation, fine motor development, and classroom participation without adding extra prep time for teachers. Every product is classroom-tested, visually clear, and built to support students who need movement, structure, and calm transitions throughout the day. These are tools I use with my own students and now I’m sharing them with you.

Teaching style

My approach blends movement, structure, and visual support. I believe regulation comes before learning and that students do best when their sensory systems and bodies feel organized. My resources focus on: • Heavy work and proprioceptive input • Clear visual structure • Simple, repeatable routines • Supporting independence • Helping students transition successfully I aim to create materials that are effective, easy to implement, and supportive of both students and staff.

Awards & shining teacher moments

While my greatest accomplishments are the small daily wins with students, I am proud of: • Helping students increase independence with self-regulation strategies • Supporting classroom teams with practical sensory supports • Creating structured routines that reduce behavior escalations • Seeing students confidently use movement tools to get “engine ready” The real award is when a student begins to recognize what their body needs and uses the strategy independently.

My own education history

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant practitioner • 25 years of school-based experience across multiple grade levels • Ongoing professional development in sensory processing, self-regulation, executive functioning, and classroom-based supports My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and real-world school experience.

Additional biographical information

I am passionate about creating tools that make teachers’ days easier and students’ days more successful. I design resources that are: • Print-friendly • Clear and uncluttered • Sensory-aware • Appropriate for SPED and general education settings When I’m not working with students, I love creating engaging visuals and practical materials that bring structure and calm into busy school environments.
