My teaching style is grounded in the Science of Reading and focuses on building strong foundational literacy skills through explicit, structured instruction. I believe students learn best when phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension are taught systematically and reinforced through meaningful practice.
In my classroom, I combine direct instruction with engaging, hands-on activities that allow students to practice new skills in small groups, literacy centers, and games. I place a strong emphasis on phonemic awareness, phonics, and orthographic mapping so students develop the decoding skills they need to become confident, independent readers.
I also believe learning should be interactive and motivating. That’s why many of the resources I create incorporate games, movement, and collaborative activities that help students stay engaged while practicing essential literacy skills.
My goal is to provide structured, research-based learning experiences that support all learners while making literacy instruction manageable and enjoyable for teachers.
