Ratios Foldable
This is a great tool to have student glue into their interactive journal. This foldable includes the Vocabulary and defintions for Ratios, Rates, Unit Rates, and Equivalent Ratios. After students cut out and glue foldable into their journal, I have left space for them to write real world examples for each word. Attached is an example of real world examples that can be placed. Percents and Proportions
After teaching sixth grade for almost 20 years, I have found that proportions are the KEY! You can use proportions to solve a LOT of concepts in sixth grade. Percents and proportions go hand in hand. This page is meant to go into their math or interactive journal. This sheet shows how to use proportions to solve problems involving, "is", "of", and %'s. I hope it work for you and your class as much as it helped mine!

Teaching style
When I think about great math instruction, I can only think about review. I feel that my lesson are a way of introducing a student to a concept, and the real mastery come by way of practice and constant review. All the lessons you'll find on here come from my own practice and from what I have been learning from these past 14 years.
