AP Calculus Volumes with Cross Sections: 3D Print Models Bundle

Created by

Students often find it challenging ot visualize volumes in calculus classes. This is a file to 3D print 5 models of volumes whose cross sections are perpendicular to the x-axis, between the curves y=x^2 and y=sqrt(x). These reflect examples found in online free flipped classroom resources and YouTube videos. The 6th volume graph models an example from AP Calculus unit 8.7 examples and is of a volume whose cross sections are squares, within a circle with radius 4. The download is for a ZIP file

Students often find it challenging ot visualize volumes in calculus classes. This is a file to 3D print a model of a volume whose cross sections are squares perpendicular to the x-axis, whose base is the equation of a circle with radius 4. This is a classic example used in multiple calculus textbooks, online resources and advanced placement. The download is for an .stl file, which should be printed at very fine resolution. The printed model is 10x10 cm (approximately 4x4 inches).

Students often find it challenging ot visualize volumes in calculus classes. This is a file to 3D print a model of a volume whose cross sections are equilateral triangles perpendicular to the x-axis, whose base is defined by the distance between the curves y=x^2 and y=sqrt(x). The download is for an .stl file, which should be printed at very fine resolution. The printed model is 10x10 cm (approximately 4x4 inches).

Students often find it challenging ot visualize volumes in calculus classes. This is a file to 3D print a model of a volume whose cross sections are rectangles perpendicular to the x-axis, whose base is defined by the distance between the curves y=x^2 and y=sqrt(x), and have a height twice the base. The download is for an .stl file, which should be printed at very fine resolution. The printed model is 10x10 cm (approximately 4x4 inches).
