This is a Keynote presentation that takes a critical look at solving multi-step problems. Built for an ESL classroom, the release is incremental. I have had success with it. You may need to adapt some of the independent practice problems to fit the resources in you classroom (it uses IXL and KhanAcademy).
This short, 3-day lesson is meant to review or reteach place value concepts. This is a Keynote presentation only. However, it includes many opportunities for formative assessment. The product was built for an ESL 1:1 classroom, so you may want to adjust some of the independent practice suggestions (IXL) with paper-based assignments. It is CCSS-aligned
This is a 9-day unit presentation. It was built for an ESL and 1:1 classroom. It practices gradual release, number talks, and formative assessment. The daily format is "I do, we do, you do." You may need to adapt some of the independent practice suggestions to fit the resources you have at your disposal. It doe give considerable focus to word-problem-solving strategies.
This is a 7-day unit Keynote presentation on adding and subtracting decimals. It is CCSS-aligned. It was build for an ESL, 1:1 classroom, so slight adaptations to the independent practice suggestions may be necessary. It compliments a free test download I have posted here.
This is a Keynote presentation on place value. It is CCSS-aligned and spaced-out for 2.5 weeks (12 days). The progression is logical and was built for ESL students. The presentation works best in a 1:1 classroom where students have use of IXL. However, you can make subtle changes to the slides to reflect student independent practice in your own classroom.
This is a Keynote presentation meant to be a review of division. Each day looks at a different component of the division process. The days start with a number talk designed to help students think about mental division and ball park estimates, which are necessary in the partial-quotients algorithm. Independent practice is IXL, so you may need to adjust in order to fit your classroom's resources.
This assessment is a challenging one, but prepares students for the new CCSS. Many of the questions ask students to share their thinking. A MARS task is included.
This is a free assessment that is CCSS-aligned. Use the CCSS checklist when assessing to target student performance. I recommend including a MARS task to this test.
Teacher made. Teacher tested. This is a CCSS-aligned Apple Keynote presentation on Place Value for a 3-week unit. The narrative is self-explanatory and offers a richer whole-group instruction than many of the digital counterparts from corporate enterprises. The scope of the unit is approximately 14 days.
