About the store
Since 2006 I have been teaching secondary Science. I’m passionate about student progress and believe that the way to get the best out of them is through teaching interesting, high-quality lessons. For many years I have worked with other teachers to help them develop their own practice. My Teaching Philosophy I’m a strong believer that what we do as a profession needs to be based on what the research tells us works best. I have an interest in how metacognition can be used in the classroom and the most effective methods to improve how much students retain from lessons. Dynamic lessons help engage students and improves their overall engagement.

Teaching style

I place an emphasis on student-centered learning, using a variety of techniques. I encourage a growth mindset in my students, and use positive reinforcement. During lessons I like to use a range of metacognitive activities to help students make connections between separate bits of content. Smiling, being authentic, and having fun in the classroom is what lights me up.
