Big Printable Inch Ruler Guide
It's just an inch. 0 to 1 in the form of a ruler. Printable handout to give to students to use as a guide for what all the little marks mean between 0 and 1 inch.
In my class we label all parts of the inch in their fractional way and we talk about equivalent fractions and what 1/8 1/16 and 1/2 are.
Then when we measure things around the room they can use this page as a guide for identifying which fraction of an inch they are looking at.

Teaching style
I sing a lot and use my undergrad degree of studio art to draw with the students to help tell stories of science and math.
Awards & shining teacher moments
We're teachers, isn't the only honor in what we are doing and the only award is the chocolate around Christmas time. :-)
My own education history
Received my undergrad degree in studio art with a focus in printmaking, photography, and ancient Asian art history. Also a minor in French.
Received my Masters in ESL and then later added teaching endorsements in: computer science, elementary education, middle school science, and middle school social studies.
Additional biographical information
I go rock climbing twice a week, I ride my unicycle for my students at the end of the year and I sing the times tables with my students all the time. I knitted my first quilt last year and got my license to drive a motorcycle. I'm trying to learn the violin and I'm taking Arabic classes for fun. I was born in the U.S but grew up in rural Ontario Canada. I really like guacamole and homemade herb breads.
