Experience
I have taught one year of third grade, seven years of 2nd grade, four years of 5th grade and now am teaching 4th grade. I also teach graduate level teacher technology courses.
Teaching style
I like to show students that learning can be fun. I try to relate everything we are doing back to an overall emphasis on community service and altruism. I believe that when kids see the importance of what they are learning on a global and cultural scale, they are much more likely to take things from my classroom with them for the rest of their lives!
Awards & shining teacher moments
Nominated for the Golden Heart Award in my school district and most importantly...thank you notes from my students and families throughout my career :)
My own education history
I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Marketing. After a few years in Business, I decided that I wanted to teach. I went back to Regis University for my MA in Elementary Education. I student taught at Highline Community School in Aurora, Colorado and have taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Buffalo Trail Elementary for the past six years.
Additional biographical information
I love to travel and volunteer. In my free time, I enjoy being outside whether hiking, biking, or just relaxing. I love to read, play music, and spend time with my family.
