20 years as a high school math teacher, mentor and curriculum lead.
Teaching style
A mix of "sage on the stage" and "guide on the side," the precise mixture depending on the students. I use PowerPoint for just about everything, along with Kahoots, Quizizz, etc. I also have videos of all my lessons as a resource for students.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Valedictorian and a bunch of other high school awards...
Bronze medalist in Royal Caribbean Karaoke Contest (that's how you know you're the real deal)...
Other than that, I'm still teaching... that's got to be worth something, right?
My own education history
Went to high school in upstate NY...
Bachelors in Computer Science at Dartmouth College, 2002...
Masters in Teaching Mathematics at Clark University in 2006
Additional biographical information
Live with my wife and two kids in central Mass... Have run at least a 5K every morning since July of 2019... I put sriracha on everything...
My retirement dream is to be a professional karaoke singer at a nightclub or restaurant and play lots of Skyrim. Also to give my future grandchildren lots of sugar and loud toys before giving them back to their parents.
