Black Panther Prompts, "Pray for Me" Analysis, & Vocab.
This curriculum supports the 6th - 12th-grade classroom by giving students an in-depth look at the song "Pray for Me" by Kendrick Lamar. Students are engaged with a vocabulary discussion regarding the word choice and how it impacts the history and current social justice challenges being faced. Students are then given a series of comprehension questions that can either be answered individually or as a Socratic seminar from key moments in the movie that address social justice issues such as women

Experience

Teaching style
I love interaction and thinking along with my students. I love the common core standards and the challenges that they bring to conceptualize learning. I am animated and focus a lot on collaboration.
My own education history
I am a graduate of the University of California - Davis, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Music. I then attended the University of San Diego, where I obtained my teaching credential and Masters in Education (emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction). Most recently just received my administrative credential from San Diego State University.
