The thought process behind this activity is to get students thinking critically about the steps needed to solve a multistep equation. A fun way to create and recreate small groups quickly within the same activity. Each student receives a card that has five characteristics: color, shape, number, letter, and font. Students group together with classmates of the same characteristic to solve a problem together, and then... SCATTER! All the groups split up and regroup based on the next characteristic.
