About the store

Experience

After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in May 2024, I taught for two years as a graduate teacher fellow at Mankato East High School. At Mankato East, I taught 9th-grade World History and 10th-grade American Studies. I am now in my first year at Sr. Clair High School where I teach 10th-grade Global Studies, 11th-grade American Civics, Psychology, and 7th-Grade Skills for Academic Success.

Teaching style

My classroom incorporates many collaborative and student-centered components. Although my store has a variety of guided note sheets, you can also find various collaborative projects and social-emotional resources to help in social studies classrooms.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Last year, I had the pleasure of serving as a BARR teacher to provide academic support to our 9th-grade students. This provided me with some complex perspectives on how different subject teachers can come together to create meaningful experiences for students. Additionally, I received the GOOSE Award (Get Out Of School Early). This is a student-nominated award where students recognize teachers and staff members for going above and beyond with wholehearted support. See my profile picture to see me (Professor GOOSE) and my mell-decorated trophy.

My own education history

In May 2024, I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a double Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education and Sociology. Two years later, I got my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning with a history specialization, also from MSU, Mankato.

Additional biographical information

I was born and raised in a small town of New Prague, Minnesota (an hour south of the Twin Cities). Although most of my life journey so far has been focused on education and side gigs to help this young teacher build some cash, I have found some hobbies to keep my sanity. When I am not in the classroom or working on grad school, I can be seen cheering for the Packers, playing social deduction games, and roughhousing with my three-year-old rescue dog (Dot). I am also in the middle of planning my wedding with my lovely fiancé, Sammy.
