Experience

Stephanie Giese has taught in the Maryland public school system as a first grade classroom teacher and in the Florida public school system both as a science resource teacher for gifted children in grades 3-5 and a general classroom teacher for grade 2. She has also been a 6th grade math teacher in Pennsylvania and taught classes for adults seeking to further their education and training.

Teaching style

Mrs. Giese believes strongly in creating opportunities in the classroom for hands-on learning experiences. She believes in cooperative grouping, develop higher order thinking, and making real world connections to the curriculum.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Mrs. Giese has authored a piece titled "NCLB, Implications for Identifying and Teaching Gifted Students," which was published in the winter 2008 edition of the Gifted Educational Press. She was also a nominee for the Science Teacher of Promise Award for Hillsborough county. Since retiring from the classroom to raise her family, she has authored several articles for Central Penn Parent magazine on the topic of education.

My own education history

Bachelor's of Arts in Liberal Studies received in May of 2005 from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Master's of Arts in Teaching received in 2006, also from the college of Notre Dame.
