Experience

With over 8 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students across multiple grade levels, including 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as serving as a Title I reading and math interventionist. This diverse experience has given me a deep understanding of student needs, curriculum standards, and effective instructional strategies. I create classroom resources that are practical, engaging, and designed to support both teachers and students. Everything I share in my store has been tested and refined in real classrooms, and I’m passionate about providing high-quality materials that save teachers time and make learning meaningful.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, consistency, and creativity. I believe all students can grow when instruction is engaging, appropriately scaffolded, and built on strong relationships. I focus on breaking down complex skills into manageable steps, using visuals, models, and interactive activities to support different learning styles. Whether I’m teaching reading, writing, or math, I strive to create a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to take risks and celebrate progress. This approach carries into the resources I create—everything is designed to be teacher-friendly, student-centered, and aligned with standards.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my proudest moments as an educator was being nominated for Educator of the Year in my county for the 2024–2025 school year—a recognition that truly humbled me and reaffirmed my passion for teaching. Throughout my career, I’ve also been honored to serve in various leadership roles within my school, including team lead, committee chair, and teacher leader. These opportunities have allowed me to collaborate with colleagues, lead initiatives, and support school-wide growth. I bring this same level of dedication and care to the resources I create, with the goal of empowering other educators and making a positive impact in their classrooms.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and have completed 24 graduate hours in the field. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, further deepening my understanding of effective teaching practices and resource design. My academic background, combined with my classroom experience, equips me to create meaningful, standards-aligned materials that support both student learning and teacher success. I’m passionate about staying current with educational research and using that knowledge to develop tools that make a real difference in the classroom.

Additional biographical information

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of West Virginia, where I still live and currently teach 5th grade. Teaching is truly a passion of mine, but my most important role is being a mom to my fun-loving 6-year-old daughter. I’ve also been happily married for 13 years, and family means everything to me. When I’m not in the classroom or creating resources, you can usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, or curled up with a good book. I love connecting with fellow educators and am so grateful for the opportunity to support others through the work I share here!
