About the store

Experience

Hey there! I'm Mrs. K, a special education teacher who creates differentiated K–3 literacy and math resources designed specifically for SPED classrooms and intervention settings. My resources are built with your most diverse learners in mind — structured, low prep, and ready to use. Whether you're looking for decodable readers, file folder games, patterns activities, or word problems, you're in the right place!

Teaching style

My teaching style blends hands-on, interactive learning with practical resources that meet the needs of real classrooms. I use a mix of long-lasting, high-prep materials like file folder activities alongside simple, no-prep options that support busy teachers and flexible instruction. I’m a Type B teacher with Type A goals—creative, adaptable, and always striving for meaningful growth. As an educator with ADHD, I connect deeply with my students who learn differently, and this helps me design supportive, inclusive learning experiences that honor every kind of brain and empower early learners to shine.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I’ve been recognized for fostering inclusive, supportive classrooms and for developing creative SPED materials that help early learners succeed. My proudest moments come from celebrating student milestones—big and small—and collaborating with families and colleagues to ensure every child feels confident and capable. These experiences reinforce my dedication to helping every student shine in their own way.

My own education history

I hold a B.S. in Early Childhood Special Education (PK–8) from Lebanon Valley College and an M.Ed. in Special Education (K–12) from Delta State University. I am also engaged in advanced graduate study in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment through the University of Illinois Chicago. My academic background blends deep expertise in early childhood development, special education, and data-informed instructional decision-making.

Additional biographical information

I’m a mom of two incredible children with unique needs, which has shaped both my heart and my teaching. My oldest has a genetic microdeletion that presents a variety of challenges, and my youngest is likely on the autism spectrum. Parenting neurodiverse children has given me deep empathy, perspective, and a personal connection to the families I serve. I’ve been teaching collaborative K–2 special education since 2022, and before that I spent five years teaching Pre-K. My background in early childhood and SPED allows me to create developmentally appropriate, inclusive resources that support young learners with a wide range of abilities.
