AR Goal setting sheet. This allows students to set their own goal; owning their reading. I have created this to help the students reflect on past goals and "persuade" me to set the goal at the value they want.

Challenges and Choices are from the Reading Series and I put them into a "choice" sheet for the students to work on throughout the week. I assign the Challenges and Choices on Monday/Tuesday and they are due on Friday. Students may work on them at home, in study hall, or during our "bonus" period once per week...this allows me to help guide them and answer any questions.
We have a 40 minutes LA period. It's short. I use this to help students take their reading a step further on their own.

This is a pieced unit that I created to teach The Misadventures of Edgar and Allan Poe: The Tell Tale Start to my 6th grade students. It's not 100% perfect and I will add to it as I do it each year. My plan is to update and make it better with each use. This was my second trial with this unit. Use pieces as you wish. Vocabulary, quizzes, extension ideas

I use this document for E-Learning. I post it in Google Classroom as an assignment and "make a copy" for each student. Once they have completed this Task List they turn it in to me digitally. Students could also print it off, take a picture of completed work, and send it to the teacher. I alternate Reading/Vocabulary/Writing with Grammar/Spelling each week so the assignments don't get too complicated for at home work.
