Vocabulary Chart for students to complete. Elements for Science of Reading included. I have students complete the words, syllable count, part of speech and definition on Mondays. Tuesday I have them circle the word parts (Morphology). Wednesday they write their 7-up sentences; using the glossary examples as mentor sentences.

AR Goal setting sheet. This allows students to set their own goal; owning their reading. I have created this to help the students reflect on past goals and "persuade" me to set the goal at the value they want.

Challenges and Choices are from the Reading Series and I put them into a "choice" sheet for the students to work on throughout the week. I assign the Challenges and Choices on Monday/Tuesday and they are due on Friday. This is a pieced unit that I created to teach The Misadventures of Edgar and Allan Poe: The Tell Tale Start to my 6th grade students. It's not 100% perfect and I will add to it as I do it each year.
