This activity allows students to practice using plural noun rules. The second page of the document has lists of singular nouns. The students use the plural noun rules on the first page to write the plural version of each noun.

Tests over idioms, similes, hyperbole, alliteration, metaphor, personification, oxymoron, and onomatopoeia.

To practice making compound sentences with conjunctions, I make a class set of the first page and cut the sentences out into strips. I use the second sentence as a placement. The students have to take the simple sentences from page 1 and organize them into compound sentences on the second page.

Students write poems about themselves using similes.

Students can practice recognizing similes and metaphors by sorting these sentences.
