Teaching style

I worked in an urban school, and now currently in an urban preschool, and feel that I am a caring and supportive yet firm teacher. I have high expectations of myself and of my students. I encourage my students to be independent and help to guide them as they journey through this new academic world that they are just beginning to discover. I believe in hands-on, inquiry based teaching. I believe in the use of formative assessments to drive my instruction. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and succeed, when they are provided with the proper support, regardless of their background.
