Before beginning our class study of The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten Boom, I wanted my 6th graders to have a basic understanding of the Holocaust. Definitions come from Dictionary.com. Historical facts come from this site: https://www.theholocaustexplained.org/how-and-why/why/.
With permission from Brilliance Builders, I’ve created 2 vocabulary tests for The Hiding Place packet she created. I used her incredible resource with my 6th graders and we loved it! The Hiding Place book was written by Corrie ten Boom. Each week, students submitted one of the vocabulary pages at the end of the week. It was graded for completion. Students were encouraged to use Dictionary.com for their work, since the tests I made were based on those definitions.

Keep your class or grade level organized with this Lunch Helper Spreadsheet. It's fully editable. The highlighted weeks are for weeks off: spring break or summer break. These can be unhighlighted if you don't want to include the weeks off.
In Writing, I teach students to use this Box Outline to preplan their writing. It's simple and can be generated easily by students, on paper or in a notebook. Students can jot down their essay ideas with bullet points (no long sentences). At the end, you have a neatly organized 5-paragraph essay. Easy!
In Writing, I use a Box Outline to teach students how to prewrite their 5-paragraph essay. We practice this in class. To make parents aware of this graphic organizer, I type up my Parent-Teacher conference notes the same way. Add whatever details you'd like parents to know about your class procedures, etc. I use bullet points to keep it easy! This form is editable.
