This is my 26th year of teaching. I started with 3rd grade as a student teacher and have been "moving up" every year to 8th grade. I taught three years of 4th grade, one year of fifth, one year of sixth, three years of seventh, and fourteen years of eighth. I have also served as a technology specialist and instructional coach.

These ten essay questions are designed to be an end-of-book activity or assessment. These questions are designed to elicit analytical, well-supported thinking. I hold a Master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have Bachelor's degrees in both elementary education and history from Southern Illinois University.
