As a passionate special education teacher that has worked with indigenous youth on the Qualla Boundary for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians for 10 plus years, married to an EBCI enrolled member for and mother of two neurodivergent children, I bring firsthand knowledge and expertise to creating educational resources that are meaningful, engaging, culturally responsive and respectful, trauma informed, and accessible for diverse learners. Since beginning my teaching journey, I’ve fostered a love for storytelling by guiding my students in authoring and publishing a book each year. Our most recent book became a permanent Story Walk installation in downtown Cherokee on the Island Park, proudly showcasing my students' creativity and hard work. With years of experience in inclusive education, I specialize in creating fun, colorful, and engaging resources that support reading comprehension, self-regulation, social-emotional growth, and academic development for students with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.
