About the store
I taught special education in the public school setting for 6 years before deciding to stay home with my new baby boy. It was a difficult decision to make since I have such a passion for teaching and genuinely loved my job, but ultimately I knew in my heart I needed to stay home with my son while he's young. I haven't completely been able to give up teaching as I now am subbing at my old school once in a while and love to put on my teacher hat and create fun and engaging activities for him! While in the classroom, I taught in several different special education positions ranging from resource room to self contained with students pre-k through 5th grade with a variety of special needs including autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and medically fragile. I loved each and every one of my positions and learned so much from each role and every single student!

Teaching style

"The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery" -Mark Van Doren I believe a teacher's job is to help the student uncover the learning for themselves- even our littlest learners! Teachers are the facilitators. Children are innately curious and they learn best through discovery and play. I always strive to make my lessons engaging and student centered!
