Experience

I have taught Science, English, Math, Computers, Special Education-High Incidence, Gifted, Career and Tech Education, Energy, Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Science, Biology, Earth and Space Science, and Human Body Systems.

Teaching style

Variety! I like to mix things up in the classroom. Although I am a planner, I prefer to teach from a playlist created for each of my classes. This gives me the flexibility to switch gears quickly if student interests, absences, or other opportunities offer themselves to me during the school day so that I can meet students where they are at when they walk in the door.

Additional biographical information

My husband and I are the parents of four children, now ages 15-23. Over the years, I have observed/supported my children through whatever interests them, whether it be Spelling Bees leading to three trips to the National Spelling Bee in Washington DC, welding a duck boat trailer from an old boat trailer (currently in my front yard, my neighbors love me!), theater, forensics, saltwater tanks, sports, 4-H, or FFA. My parents farm near my home, and I love to incorporate bits about agriculture into my lessons when I can. I also spent many years working as a project manager for an engineering firm, so I enjoy all things STEM and Engineering. I have a passion for helping students in career pathing, so I like to add career highlights and college tips into my teaching, as well. My TPT is a collaboration with my daughter, who is a Marshall Scholar studying for a Masters in Agriculture Economics in Reading, England. Our goal is to make enough so that she can order Five Guys takeout on Sundays while she is in covid lockdown, a little treat for a poor college student!
