As an educator, I got tired of students dragging into class tired and unmotivated. I decided to do something that would change that. I wanted to figure out a way to make school a privilege instead of a chore for my kiddos. I came up with a system that is a fun and motivational way to get kids excited to learn and to stay on track throughout the day. Once downloaded, open License to Learn first. Ladybug Counting can be used to introduce and practice numbers, number words, and number matching. It can be used whole group or small group and then turned into individual art projects your kiddos will love! It can also be laminated and used as a center sort. Center sheet with answer key provided.

Have fun with addition through art! This is a hands-on addition art project that gives kids freedom to practice math facts and then display art work when they are finished. Teaching style

I love to do things hands-on with my kiddos. I think they have more fun and get more out of my lessons that way!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I consider a single student to be the biggest honor of my teaching career. I had the privilege of working with a student who had a severe behavior disorder. He challenged me every day of school that year and we grew a lot together. He came up to me everyday for the following two years, smiled and gave me a big hug. Those hugs and smiles made all of the hurdles we jumped together well worth it! He even worked towards earning time to come read to my class as part of his behavior management plan with his other teachers. Seeing such a drastic change in that one student has been my best honor as a teacher.

My own education history

I have my BA in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University and my MS in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University.
