Experience

I have been teaching special education for 25 years in a variety of settings and grade levels. Most recently I became a certified Teacher for students with Visual Impairments. Teaching style

It is impossible to identify one teaching style when you work with students as unique as a fingerprint. Special education students may come with an "identifier" but it is not who they are. I teach students. I love meeting students where they are and working together to help them grow.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Osceola County first year teacher of the year (2001)

My own education history

National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist - 2009, 2018

Additional biographical information

I LOVE spending time with my children. Watching them grow and develop is so exciting. They have enhanced my desire to do best by my students, helping them to be successful despite their academic, social and personal struggles.
