This poster will help pre k and kindergarten students write the alphabet the correct way. It shows the letters as chicken, giraffe, or monkey letters depending on the way they are written.

These are the sight words from the McGraw Hill Reading Wonders series for Kindergarten and 1st Grade. I did both so teachers can review the kindergarten words with their first graders or challenge their kinder kids with first grade words!
Print these on colored card stock and laminate and you've got flash cards, cards for centers, or a small group game!
Hope these come in handy for you! =)

This is something we use in my grade level to remember birthdays and buy gifts! This way we buy exactly what the other teacher wants! You could also use this for your child's teacher, which I may do this year!
Black and white dolch sight word flash cards. I print these on bright colored cardstock and laminate for quick use in small group or whole group. I use these for testing, games, or just about anything!

My kids LOVE it!! We play for every topic and any free time we have. I use it mainly during whole group for time fillers and during Morning Meeting (group activity).
This particular game is for CVC words, ONLY. I will be adding several more games. So, if you like this one, check out my others!
If you've never played I have, who has, try it today!! =)

I created this for ME to use when I started teaching 3rd grade. I realized that some students were quickly reading the text and not really paying attention to what they were reading. This led to low test scores on weekly tests and benchmark tests, which created frustrations all around. Something had to change. We started using these simple strategies during small group time and it became a habit for me and my students. Students were able to take this information home and share it with their
Flashcards with all 220 Dolch wrods (pre primer- 3rd grade) with a sentence for each. Can be used with small groups, at centers, or whole group. You can use them any way you want!
Hope you like them! =)
This unit has 5 I have, who has games, 1 for each vowel. You can play the games as you're studying each vowel or combine all of them for a review of all vowels. This unit only includes short vowel words. There are 24 cards for each vowel. Altogether, you will have 120 cards!
Check out my other I have, who has games too!

This is a checklist that I think will come in handy using the Common Core standards for ELA for 1st graders. This is easy to understand and easy to glance at when doing lesson plans. It is broken down into nine week periods that we use at my school, but I think everyone could benefit from it. Every ELA standard is listed.
*Math Common Core is coming!*
These sorts were created for students to explore on their own and explain their thinking. I created them with a skill(s) in mind, but they can be sorted in many different ways. You will be surprised at what your students come up with! Let them explore and see if they can determine the skill on their own or tell them the skill and have them practice. I like to use these for an introduction or for review!
Positive punch cards are an easy way to reward good behavior for each student. The kids keep their cards and can punch them with the hole punch on their own. When they fill it up, they can choose a reward!
Black and white flash cards. I copy these on bright colored cardstock and laminate for durability. I use these for small group, whole group, and independent centers.
I hope you enjoy!!
*Other Fry words coming soon!*
