Create an anchor chart that looks like this umbrella. Label it during a mini lesson where you introduce the concept of main idea and details. During the unit when you read passages pass this umbrella page out. The kids can put their main idea and details on their umbrella.

This not only includes a tutorial video on HOW TO CREATE a Bitmoji class picture, but it gives you 15+ backgrounds to choose from. The links you need are in the slides. All you need to do is create the Bitmojis, paste them in the slides and you're done! Voila!

Students are bugged by other students pretty easily. When they are being "bugged" by something someone is doing. They write it down on a "Bugs me" paper. They add it to our class box. Every Friday we have community circle. We always pull out a few slips and problem solve as a class.

Before conference time, pass this paper out to each student. Give them their work samples that match each learning target. Have the students reflect on their work. They can determine which smiley face reflects how they feel about that specific learning target. They have a spot to explain why. Then the teacher and parents can add their input at conferences.

Student research an animal of their choice. My student enjoy checking out books from the library, reading books on Epic!, and looking it up on Kiddle.co While they are completing their research they can take notes on this page. Then using this page they complete an informative paragraph about their animal.
