About the store
I have taught in New York City Public Schools for fifteen years in the heart of the city, Manhattan. I began my teaching career working in a gifted and talented school, and then went on to teach in an integrated co-teaching setting. I taught 5th grade (all subjects) as well as 5th and 6th grade Social Studies in a departmentalized structure. I am a proud product of the New York City school system myself.
During my time in the classroom I worked on piloting the Common Core Standards before they were adopted on a national level. Along with attending various educational conferences and professional development workshops, I have also spent a lot of time creating my own social studies, literacy, and math curriculum that is aligned to the standards for my own use. I have created units for teachers in New York City public schools to use as well.
I have my Master's Degree in Literacy Education, birth through sixth grade, and also am certified and licensed in Gifted Education, birth to 12 as well as Special Education, birth through second grade.

This is a newsletter that I created using Google Slides, but could only upload in Powerpoint. PowerPoint changes the format a bit. However, in order to view it properly, you should download it in PowerPoint, and upload/edit in Google Slides.

Word Study Story Rubric
This is a rubric that can be used by students to help write spelling/vocabulary stories for ten words. It can also be used in order to grade a spelling or vocabulary story that is written by students. It contains a section for students to peer review and leave constructive feedback to their peers.
