Teaching style

I STRONGLY believe that the arts provide endless skill-building, social opportunities, creative expression, and personal value to our students. In education, I think variation is vital. I like to use a combination of hands-on, lecture-style, writing, creating, listening, reflecting, technology-centered, and collaborative activities in my classroom. I also like to frame my lessons in a way that empowers students to apply new skills and knowledge in the real world and/or in future careers.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have taken on a brand new baby theater program in my current district. In only one year, our numbers in class enrollment, drama club, and audition turnouts have more than doubled! I pride myself of doing everything I can, including continuing to learn myself, to educate and bring the arts to our students.

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2020 (what a year!). I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in English. I continue to further my education and professional development regularly, as I believe in life-long learning. In the near future, I will be setting out to acquire my masters degree in Education with a focus on theater pedagogy.
