10 Years teaching High School Mathematics and Visual Arts in the New York City Public School District. During those years I've taught in entirely in Title 1 schools with classes ranging from 8 to 43 students at a time. These classes are made up of ICT, Honors, Test Prep, ESL, and more! All products I post are products that have been used and tested in my classes, and will be a mix of general teaching material, as well as materials that range in topics from CC/Next Gen Algebra I, CC/Next Gen Algebra I Test Prep, SAT Prep, NYS Regents Prep, CC Algebra II, Honors CC Algebra II, Geometry, and Visual Arts.

Play Doh Cross Sections (Geometry) Lesson
Designed for a Geometry course that is studying the relationship between 3D figures and their 2D cross sections, this file includes a Do Now, Exit Ticket, Notes, Modeling, Real Life and Art connections, and a Discovery-based worksheet with practice problems. Students will use Play Doh and plastic knives (provided by the teacher) to create 3D figures and then slice them open to examine their cross sections and how their cross sections relate to their bases. This reference sheet is perfect as a review of quadrilaterals, or as an introduction to a quadrilateral unit. This is a one-pager, fill-in-the-blank reference sheet about RIGID MOTIONS that allows students to fill out the transformation rules for Reflections, Translations, and Rotations.
