About the store
10 Years teaching High School Mathematics and Visual Arts in the New York City Public School District. During those years I've taught in entirely in Title 1 schools with classes ranging from 8 to 43 students at a time. These classes are made up of ICT, Honors, Test Prep, ESL, and more! All products I post are products that have been used and tested in my classes, and will be a mix of general teaching material, as well as materials that range in topics from CC/Next Gen Algebra I, CC/Next Gen Algebra I Test Prep, SAT Prep, NYS Regents Prep, CC Algebra II, Honors CC Algebra II, Geometry, and Visual Arts.

Linear Relationship Tile Patterns Worksheet

Created by

This worksheet introduces linear functions through tile patterns. The front of the worksheet features two tile patterns where students are asked to find the growth pattern to draw figure 0 and figure 4. Then, students will be asked to identify the initial value and growth rate, write an equation, and determine figure 100. Then, for pattern 3, students will be given the equation without a tile pattern and will be asked to work backwards to fill out a table, identify the growth an initial value, a

Introduction to Exponential Functions Discovery Worksheet

This worksheet introduces exponential functions to students by having them first graph y=2x (a linear function) and then y=2^x. Students use a graph and a table to compare differences for how these two functions grow. Students then graph y=1/2^x and compare the exponential functions, make inferences and observations, and ultimately determine a rule for the growth of exponential functions. This is a great discovery-based worksheet for students first learning about exponential functions and compar

Designed for a Geometry course that is studying the relationship between 3D figures and their 2D cross sections, this file includes a Do Now, Exit Ticket, Notes, Modeling, Real Life and Art connections, and a Discovery-based worksheet with practice problems. Students will use Play Doh and plastic knives (provided by the teacher) to create 3D figures and then slice them open to examine their cross sections and how their cross sections relate to their bases. Students LOVE getting to model with the

Quadrilateral Reference Sheet and Flow Chart

This reference sheet is perfect as a review of quadrilaterals, or as an introduction to a quadrilateral unit. Students will begin by reviewing key vocabulary for the unit (bisect, congruent, perpendicular, parallel), followed by drawing an image of key quadrilaterals (parallelogram, trapezoid, square, rectangle, rhombus), and then use their drawing to analyze the bisectors, angles, and side relationships that define each type of quadrilateral. They will organize their analysis in a chart that th

Rigid Motions REFERENCE SHEET

Created by

This is a one-pager, fill-in-the-blank reference sheet about RIGID MOTIONS that allows students to fill out the transformation rules for Reflections, Translations, and Rotations. Students then engage with a few simple examples of each rigid motion. Lastly, students will explain the definition of rigid motions. I personally like to print this on a colored piece of paper and have students refer back to it throughout the unit as necessary in my ICT Geometry courses. This download will be editable i
