About the store
I have fifteen years experience in working with students with disabilities. I spent about 12 years working with students with severe to profound intellectual disabilities, as well as students with autism at a public separate day school. I then spent two years working with middle/high school students with emotional disabilities at a non-public school. I now co-teach Intro to Algebra/Algebra I and Geometry at the high school level in a public school close to home. I have also worked at a non-profit serving children and adults with disabilities, providing in-home respite care.

Experience

I have fifteen years experience in working with students with disabilities. I spent about 12 years working with students with severe to profound intellectual disabilities, as well as students with autism at a public separate day school. I then spent two years working with middle/high school students with emotional disabilities at a non-public school. Teaching style

In my classroom, we have just learned to roll with the punches because each day and every moment brings some unexpected twist and turn. I wish that I could keep some sort of routine or that I could have one set teaching style but, considering the distinct personalities and physical/emotional/social/medical needs of my students, I have to constantly change my teaching methods to suit the vastly changing atmosphere that surrounds our classroom.
