Experience

I am a high school science teacher in California. I currently teach CP Biology, co-teach CP Biology with an amazing special education teacher, and teach Biology to students new to the United States and with little to no English skills. California utilizes NGSS standards for science.

Teaching style

I work hard to make sure that all content is accessible to all learners: English Learners, students with 504s, special education students, etc. I include a lot of visuals in my classroom and am working towards including more opportunities for students to explore their own learning. I know that there are always areas to improve on, but I do work closely with special education teachers to ensure that my instruction is accessible.

My own education history

I got my Bachelor's in Secondary Science Education with a focus on biological sciences from Western Governors University during the COVID era. I also went back to Western Governors University to get a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master's in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology.
