A group of friends have dinner and can't decide who ate the most turkey. Students must use their knowledge of fractions to help them find the answer. This math challenge is in the format of an Exemplar, so students have multiple steps and it requires critical thinking. This is a great activity to give to students that need an extra challenge.
Mrs. Voorhees bought a large cake for the Honor Roll recipients. How many students received a piece of cake in each class? That is the task for this Exemplar-style fractions challenge. This activity can be done alone, with a partner or group, or as a whole group model lesson. The answer key is included.
