This is an anticipatory reading guide to accompany Unit 4 lesson 1 with Harcourt 3rd grade Communities Social Studies. I use this to get my students interested in the topic and vocabulary they may be stumped on. They also like to see what they get correct at the end through their reading. It keeps them engaged and working throughout their reading.
