This unit was designed for a 6th grade general music class, but could be used in grades 3rd through 8th. This lesson also includes the music standards, essential questions, activating strategies, teaching strategies, assessment prompts, summarizing strategies, and much, much more. This lesson was designed for a general music/performing art class but could easily be used in an ELA class setting as the unit concludes with a writing assignment.
