About the store
Former librarian who now works from home and homeschools my AuDHD child. I enjoy making my own curriculum based on my child's interests and seeing where we end up. I work for a non-profit organization that helps Autistic individuals connect with the resources they need to live fully. I host online and in-person social groups for kids on the spectrum and love coming up with fun engaging activities that they can participate in successfully. I base my work on my engagement with others and look to fill a need, especially when teaching kids with special needs.

Here is a fun sheet for your student to fill out at the end of the year. It is great for homeschool portfolios since it allows the student to complete a self directed assessment of the year and their teacher. This helps you as a teacher identify strengths and weaknesses and offers a heads up of what they would like to learn more about. Comes in color and B & W pdf download.

Experience

Former librarian who now works from home and homeschools my AuDHD child. I enjoy making my own curriculum based on my child's interests and seeing where we end up. I work for a non-profit organization that helps Autistic individuals connect with the resources they need to live fully. I host online and in-person social groups for kids on the spectrum and love coming up with fun engaging activities that they can participate in successfully. I base my work on my engagement with others and look to fill a need, especially when teaching kids with special needs.

Teaching style

I have a go with the flow teaching style. I take a hands-on approach and like to demonstrate what is being asked and how one might answer then give the student a chance to put their own spin on things. I am an observer and will look for things that spark interest and then run with it and find out as much as we can about the subject. I am a librarian, so I like to give the information and allow the student to do what they like with it. I like to teach skills that can be applied in real life. I focus on executive functioning, self-regulation and motor skills and believe these core skills have a big impact on learning and teaching.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Teacher of the Year at Stinky Feet School 2023 Teacher of the year at Frogwarts Academy 2024 *These are the names my daughter came up with for our Homeschool. Each year we pick a name and design a portfolio cover with it! I highly recommend this as a fun way to get kids engaged and tap into their creativity!
