Experience
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have dedicated my career to Special Education, supporting students with a wide range of disabilities and ability levels. I have taught learners with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, and functional needs, adapting instruction to ensure meaningful access, growth, and success for every student.
Teaching style
Teaching in Special Education requires intentionally engaging all learning modalities and providing lessons through multiple presentation formats.
This means instruction is delivered using visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic methods so students can access content in the way that best matches their individual strengths. Lessons are broken down into clear steps, reinforced with hands-on practice, supported with visuals, repeated in meaningful contexts, and differentiated to meet a wide range of learning needs. This multimodal approach helps ensure every student—regardless of ability level, communication style, or processing speed—has the opportunity to understand, participate, and succeed.
My own education history
I have an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a K–6 Special Education endorsement, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and an additional degree in Early Childhood Education. My educational background provides a strong foundation in child development, instructional design, and specialized supports for diverse learners.
