Can be used to brainstorm descriptive words prior to writing, to note descriptive language used in a mentor text, to brainstorm synonyms for vocabulary development or to describe objects in science lessons.
This place value chart has visuals (place value blocks), number form and standard form for numbers from hundred millions to thousandths to help students conceptualize and compare up to three numbers.
Students often have a hard time determining what pronouns refer to, which causes them to confuse characters and miss key ideas in a text. I created these sentences to help them practice determining what each pronoun represents. We label the pronouns with an initial for character, or write the name of the object/idea above it. I use the first page as modeling/guided practice and the next two as partner/independent work.
This packet allows students to practice determining the main idea and details. It is scaffolded. The first example in each set is meant to be used for modeling, so may be more challenging. There is a blank graphic organizer at the end.
Students can use this sheet to determine character emotions from short sentences and practice giving text evidence to support their ideas. A word bank is included.
