About the store
In 2011 I graduated from East Carolina University, receiving my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I began teaching mathematics immediately after I graduated college. I taught at a private special education school at the high school level then moved on to teaching public school at the middle school level. I am now a Middle School Math Coach in my district working with teachers and students to provide the best learning experience in the mathematics classroom. I have experience teaching SPED, ELL, Gifted, and General Education. I also have extensive experience tutoring and teaching at a mathematics after-school learning center for children of all ages and backgrounds. I have obtained my Master's degree in Mathematics Educational Leadership from George Mason University and am certified in the state of Virginia in Secondary Mathematics, Math Specialist (K-8), Special Education, ESOL, and Gifted Education.

Stand Up If... Properties of Quadrilaterals
Students are given random cards and they need to stand up if their card has that property. For example, if a student has a picture of a square, they will stand when you call out "all sides congruent". The cards have pictures or words so they can also be used for random grouping. These call-outs can be displayed on the screen and/or read verbally.

Proving Congruence of Segments, Angles, and Polygons with Measurements
This file has two pages of activities for proving figures are congruent by measuring corresponding parts with protractors and rulers. The first page the students are measuring segments and angles, the second page the students are measuring segments and angles in polygons. Students are investigating with protractors and rulers so they are needed for this task. These pages could be used as an inquiry activity instead of a lecture/lesson.

Symmetry of Regular and Irregular Polygons Task Cards
This file has three pages for finding lines of symmetry for regular and irregular polygons using patty paper. There are two sets of polygons, one regular and one irregular, and then a recording sheet where students discover the number of lines of symmetry for regular polygons equals the number of sides. Students are investigating with patty paper so patty paper is needed for this task. These pages could be used as an inquiry activity instead of a lecture/lesson.
