About the store
In 2011 I graduated from East Carolina University, receiving my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I began teaching mathematics immediately after I graduated college. I taught at a private special education school at the high school level then moved on to teaching public school at the middle school level. I am now a Middle School Math Coach in my district working with teachers and students to provide the best learning experience in the mathematics classroom. I have experience teaching SPED, ELL, Gifted, and General Education. I also have extensive experience tutoring and teaching at a mathematics after-school learning center for children of all ages and backgrounds. I have obtained my Master's degree in Mathematics Educational Leadership from George Mason University and am certified in the state of Virginia in Secondary Mathematics, Math Specialist (K-8), Special Education, ESOL, and Gifted Education.

Using Halves for FDP Equivalence (fourths and eighths)
In this lesson students are using their understanding of halving for fraction, decimal, percent equivalence of wholes, halves, fourths, and eighths. This lesson includes a warm-up, exit ticket, lots of discovery and discussion, and some extra practice. The file includes the PowerPoint lesson and a recording sheet. Perfect Square or Non-Perfect Square Lesson
In this PowerPoint lesson, students are using square tiles and grid paper to determine perfect and non-perfect squares, and if it is a perfect square, determine the square root. The presentation is animated to move the tiles to create the perfect or non-perfect squares. The lesson includes a warm up and a cool down. Make sure the presentation is in widescreen.
