About the store

Experience

I'm in my twentieth year of working in education. I support teachers and students in an urban school setting and love co-planning and executing reading intervention work with teachers to reach the needs of all students. Literacy is my passion and I have a reading specialist certificate and over a decade of experience coaching teachers to improve literacy instruction.

Teaching style

I try to follow in the footsteps of Debbie Miller, "The Sisters," Tanny McGregor, Ellin Keene and Rafe Esquith to inspire deep conversations about what we read but many students need support cracking the code before they can get lost in a good book. I love helping students find the path to a favorite book and work to make reading a joy instead of a chore.
