I used the powerpoint in partnership with some tableaux activities (i.e calling a few students to the class to make a tableaux of a birthday scene). I referred back to this powerpoint during the lesson, and had students take notes.
Powerpoint includes: What is a Tableaux? Stage directions, as well as samples of different levels using the stations of the cross as an example and follow up assignment.
I've been teaching Intermediate for 6 years now, and the truth is, no matter how pretty your page, if it's not RELEVANT, it's BORING (to them, I actually love pretty pages).
Each September I get in the know and have open discussions about whats going on in the world with my students (for example, summer 2016 was all Olympics and Pokemon GO!). After a teacher chosen activity (powerpoint, storybook, video, etc), have the students fill out one line on this card. Rest it in your classroom to pay respects that day.
