Math Lesson on Rates and Ratios with real life examples such as Tim Hortons roll up the rim to win! A fun lesson for students. Most of the slides are based on step by step plus explanations on EQUIVALENT RATIOS. Also includes a how-to- on simplest/smallest forms for when students aren't sure when to reduce their final fraction. Powerpoint does include an equivalency chart - same number in ratio, percent, fraction, and decimals. Printing these is also great for at-home-help for parents too!

The following is a lesson I used for my grade 7 classroom. It starts at BEDMAS, order of operations, concepts and progressively expands on those concepts. There are real problems and solutions scanned from a students real homework page. Can also print for "notes" for accommodations, and use as a review for tests and refreshers for the unit.
