I have 10 years of teaching experience in 5th and 6th grade. I have my masters in reading from UVA and love to integrate literacy across content areas. I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of learners, including students with ADHD, ADD, students with learning disabilities, deaf and HOH students, blind students, students with emotional disorders, ESOL students, and gifted students. In this reader's theater, students practice these concepts of time:
-Analog vs. digital
-Counting by 5s
-Half past the hour
-Quarters of the hour
They learn in a fun way--through acting and singing! These concepts are written as popular songs that students will be singing all around your room after you teach them.

Teaching style
I'd describe my teaching styles as creative, arts integrated, literacy focused, interactive, cooperative, and appropriately challenging. I also like to give students multiple ways to show me what they know.
